Package: puppet
Version: 2.7.18-4
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream

Hey there,
I noticed some weird memory behavior of the Puppet agent available in
stable over the last months.

After some days the agent consums more and more memory until
I get the following logs from tagmail:

Tue Aug 27 17:16:33 +0200 2013 Puppet (err):
Could not run command from prerun_command: Cannot allocate memory - fork(2)

ps output looks like this:
root 30776 0.6 20.5 302020 210912 ?
  Ss Aug20 66:36 /usr/bin/ruby1.8 /usr/bin/puppet agent

After restarting the daemon everything works fine, until after some days
again, from the output above you can see that the daemon ran for 7 days.

I'm running another node, with a smaller policy, that doesn't seem to have
such problems. (Debian squeeze with Puppet 2.7.18-3~bpo60+1)

Any help is appreciated, I can supply more data or logs if you need it.

Cheers
Markus
