Hi everyone,

first things first, I should introduce myself. My name is Paul Cochrane and
I'm a (scientific) software developer working at a research institute in
Germany. I've also been a big fan of Perl for many years and have watched
Perl6 from the beginning. I was an active member of the Parrot project from
2006-2007, after which I changed jobs and lost contact with the Perl6
community. Within roughly the last 6 months I have again become active in
the Perl6 community and have been helping out mostly with the documentation
effort at this stage.

I'd really like to get a current Rakudo package built and available for
users to use, hence my interest and involvement in the Rakudo packaging
effort. As a part of this effort, I've just created the Debian Rakudo Group
team wiki page, and I thought you'd be interested to know about it:

https://wiki.debian.org/Teams/DebianRakudoGroup

Here we can share information concerning packaging of MoarVM, NQP, Rakudo
and relevant Perl6 modules. Currently, the page was hacked from the Debian
Perl Group wiki page and as such much of the information has merely been
copied. Nevertheless, over time we can extend this to the particular needs
of the Rakudo Group.

I'm excited to be part of the team!

Kind regards,

Paul
