[Pkg-roundcube-maintainers] Packaging an extra locale in Roundcube

Hello!

For a while now I've been maintaining a French gender neutral
translation for roundcube (fr_FEM) at
https://github.com/baldurmen/roundcube_fr_FEM

I haven't tried to have it merged upstream since I doubt it would be
accepted (gender neutral translations issues tend to be quite
acrimonious, especially in the French translation community...)

I would like to package it in Debian for ease of use.

I don't know how complicated packaging Roundcube is, but I doubt you
want to deal with repacking upstream's tarball to add an extra locale.

I think the way that would make the most sense would be to have one
source package (roundcube-locales-extra) that splits up in multiple
binary packages (roundcube-core-locales-extra,
roundcube-plugins-locales-extra, roundcube-plugins-extra-locales-extra,
etc.).

Any thoughts on that?

Are there any packaging guidelines I should follow? I normally use the
Python Team's git packaging guide as a base for other packages, but I'd
be happy to stick your workflow to have a common standard.

Cheers!
