No problem at all. After all, you are the maintainer and the decision is up 
to you.

However I'd say that on this instance we are fortunate to have "simple 
solution". IMHO it is only matter of time until external jQuery libraries 
break Redmine again. Far too many times I have been bitten by similar issues 
in many other packages and now I am convinced that relying on external jQuery 
is unmaintainable and unsustainable. In the long term it cost far too much 
time to identify and fix such problems...
