I'm sorry, that was unnecessarily brief.

I don't think that we can deal with a concern about serving users by
arguing simply that not serving users in that way results in a net time
saving for contributors.  The question is always whether serving users
in that particular way is important to our mission.  So, I think we need
to think in a more complex way than the sort of arithmetical approach
you suggest.
