/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/salt is probably not the right place
for the script. Maybe put it into /usr/share/salt.

You could either drop them or put them into the documentation directory
in the salt-doc package (and make them executable there)

That's nearly what I came up with, too.

At least these scripts should be executable. Finding the right place is
a related issue.
