I did some of the editorializing that was proposed.  The remaining 
proposals were for removing obsolete pre-3.0 upgrade questions.  I 
don't think that these need to be done now or at any specific time.  
Note that removing the templates should go along with removing the 
respective postinst code, which seems to be nontrivial work.

We have a security problem open in unstable and testing, so we need to 
get moving.  I don't see a mention of this issue in the pending 
unstable changelog; that needs to be checked.  Also, it would be nice 
if someone could fix the svn "sarge" branch to match what is actually 
in sarge at the moment.

That said, we should probably wait for the python default to be changed 
in unstable.  That was supposed to happen on July 2 but didn't.
