Trying to get 3.0.23d in etch also gets my vote.

I am involved in the l10n NMU campaign and d-i final l10n stuff

I think that building 3.0.23d is just a matter a adding our SVN to the
source tree, refresh the debian/patches stuff (maybe change one or two
patches slightly) and rebuild.
