[Pkg-samba-maint] Anyone feeling like digging into the patches and see whether we still need them?

This is exactly what I was thinking while looking at them to comment
them. This one, specifically, should be.

Please have a look at my comments, they are only partial and, for some
patches, I have no clue about what they're intended to.
