Not really; I just happened to touch it last due to security updates.  
:)  I am, however, happy to help with getting Debian/Ubuntu changes more 
closely merged.

He has done work on it in the past too, yes.  He has been pretty busy 
with other things lately, though.  Others could be ajmitch and mvo 
(Cc'd).  I'm not a samba expert, so I may need to defer to other people 
on various changes.
