This could be true as-is, if one machine with nss_wins would be
capable of handling simultaneous queries using both protocols. But
what kind of machine would be doing the non-WINS lookups? A Linux box
with nbtscan, maybe?

There are so many ways of writing this, from "via the NBNS/WINS
protocol" to "via the WINS (NBNS) service", and any one of them would
be fine by me. I'd leave it up to the people who are familiar with
the technical side.
