Sure, but the expertise you need to sign off on these changes isn't
hear. We are however expert enough to say:
- Here be dragons!
- The experts you need to sign off on this are on
samba-technical at lists.samba.org
- Patches not already approved by upstream should never by in debian
Samba or samba library packages.

That still doesn't justify changing the interface contract as a
'porting' measure in the main debian archive. I realise it's a chicken
and egg situation, but this, here, isn't the way to resolve it.
