Package: samba
Version: 2:3.6.6-6+deb7u9
Followup-For: Bug #820982

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

apt-get upgrade (samba)

   * What was the outcome of this action?

Windows 7 and Windows XP stations cannot authenticate users any more.
(Error messages are not exact - I have czech windows so I try to translate back to english)

Win7: trust relationship between this station and primary domain failed
WinXP: windows cannot log you to doamin, because domain controller is not available, or workstation account was not found.

log.smbd shows this when trying to log from Win7

[2016/04/15 13:31:31.985456, 0] rpc_server/netlogon/srv_netlog_nt.c:976(_netr_ServerAuthenticate3)
_netr_ServerAuthenticate3: netlogon_creds_server_check failed. Rejecting auth request from client LOPATA machine account LOPATA$

nothing logged when attepting login from win XP

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

Just log in as before the upgrade

I tried installing winbind, but it did not help. Should it be configured somehow?

temporary solution - downgrade

I have a testing environment, so I can provide some debug logs. Please tell me exactly what would be helpful. Samba is usually logging either too much or too little.

Thanks in advance for help
