Thank you for your persistence.   I was going to reply to your mail, to
say that 20 years into Samba and what must be 10 years into waf I don't
know off the top of my head exactly what these do.

But I instead decided to reply in terms of a researched merge request
adding in some help text to the configure options.  The naming
certainly could have been better, in hindsight. 

I will also reply to your mails.
