I'm not sure why you need to involve the Samba maintainers in this...
It's easy to check, smbfs was removed from the kernel in 2011. Which means
that we can take it out, but I'm not going to do so without having a pass
at all the other filesystems too. There's no harm in letting them stay
for the time being.
