| Hi Maintainer,
|
| while looking at your package I decided to reject it for now.
|
| - Cant this be included in the coreutils package, maybe even as a
| debian addition to it? Did you ask that maintainer?
| Would be the most logical place for it.

The coreutils and login maintainers may be interested. There was a
note that should have been sent during the WNPP to login maintainer,
but is has been quiet.

I'm not familiar with the release policy of login or coreutils; but if
they are long, perhaps it would make sense to provide nologin to users
now and phase it out when it has been integrated so some of them?

| - The next reason is that you modify /etc/passwd at install and
| deinstall time. While it may be that one wants all accounts with
| this handler the admin should call that himself IMO, not a package
| modifying such a central config file. One could also try to only get the
| nologin thing for new additions, or so.
| And there is also the reason that there are thousands of ways to handle
| accounts, so a simple edit of etc/passwd may not be right or enough.

Thanks,

I've now modified the package not to make any chnages to the
running system. The README.Debian includes new instructions.

There is new release 1.0-3 available via apt. The HTTP is
not directly browsable due to search engines etc.
