Package: passwd
Version: 4.0.3-29
Severity: wishlist

I'm creating a modified version of debian-installer for work, and one
thing I'm experimenting with is running at critical debconf priority to
reduce the number of questions asked to a bare minimum. Unfortunately,
one of the questions that gets removed as a result is the one asking for
my real name, so I end up with an /etc/passwd entry with no GECOS field.

I guess it could be argued that the real name question is non-essential,
but certainly in the kind of desktop-oriented CD I'm aiming for we want
to know the user's real name so that things like mail clients can fill
it in automatically, and it's better to ask the question once while
creating the user than lots of times later on. Would you consider
raising the priority of the passwd/user-fullname question to critical?

Thanks,

Given that the shadow package maintenance team has now taken over this
package, we can know acknowledge all non-maintainer uploads which were
made during the interim period.

So, hoping I made no typo, I hereby close all these bugs
definitely. Thanks a lot to all bug reporters.
