Subject: login: weird error message on --- username
To: submit@bugs.debian.org
X-Mailer: bug 3.2.10
Delivered-To: submit@bugs.debian.org

Package: login
Version: 19990827-20
Severity: normal

Note: This is sparc64 debian.

When I type "---" (without the quotes) for username at the console login
prompt, I get this error message:

usage: login [-p] [name]
       login [-p] [-h host] [-f name]
       login [-p] -r host

After that, I get the login prompt again.

This doesn't always happen though. However, most of the time it does.

I just find it strange that this is printed. Maybe it is fixed in newer
versions of login...
