Well, it has always been alive with Tomasz doing many releases back in
2005-2006, but he apparently had to slow down as of March 2007 and it
took time for us (Nicolas mostly) to organize things and gather people
around to have shadow move on again.

It's actually also very nice to see ppl from various Linux-based
distros gather together to discuss about shadow and talk about patches.

I think that 4.1.0 will certainly be a beta or RC. I don't know if
it's worth calling explicitely this way.

Actually, I didn't discuss with Nicolas about what we'll do for Debian
but we'll probably upload the first 4.1.0 to Debian experimental (the
drawback is that it gives a quite low exposure to potential bugs....as
not that many ppl install packages from experimental).

I think it would be wise for you ppl from other distros to use the
same approach and first put shadow 4.1.0 in the "experimental",
"development" or anything that you can safely break...:)
