it happens when you have an user whose primary group is not listed in
 /etc/groups ,and this user switches to a secondary goup, and back

(this was due to me installing sid and etch and then jumping back and forth between the two - the /etc/group files became desynched)

as you see,the primary group is 1013, with no name
