I reported earlier, that it occurs on i386 and not x86_64. It turned out
it's probably rather 1 proccessor vs many proccessors - ie it only
occurs on single proccessor systems (yes, contrary to usual bugs, this
occurs only on single proccessor systems).

about reproducibility, it does not occur on ibm laptops, but it occurs
on some HP servers. also, a coworker can pretty reliably reproduce it in
KVM (and thus possibly qemu) running debian sid (sid userland and
kernel). reliably means 1/3 of times or so.
