I did not wrote that you wrote this neither.
Although I assumed this was meant by reporting a bug on login instead of
kdm, as you assumed my question meant that I assumed you meant what you
did not wrote ;)

Can you check if this is fixed by setting UseSessReg in kdm.options, or if
this can be fixed by adding this line to the PAM configuration file of
kdm:
session  required  pam_lastlog.so silent

You will also have to reassign this bug to kdm
