No, I created
  /etc/systemd/system/autologin\@.service
and then linked to that

Maybe "postinst" could create the link on initial installation, but not
on an upgrade?
Would it help if I named my modified file getty at tty1.service ?

Maybe there's a better way of logging myself in automatically ?
