Bug#800687: systemd: Boot defaults to emergency mode

Package: systemd
Version: 226-3
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I'm running Debian testing and after the transition from sysv to systemd the
system stopped booting. I almost never restart my laptop so I noticed it only a
week ago, the problematic upgrade may have happened a few months before that.
Instead of booting to X, I'm thrown into "emergency mode".

The log says "Reached target Emergency Mode" as if it was the intended
behavior, but I didn't make any custom changes in the boot process, it just
does this "out of the box". I upgrade my system once in a while by running apt-
get update && apt-get dist-upgrade.

Apart from the fact that many people have some personal problems with it, I
don't know almost anything about systemd and I don't really have the time or
motivation to study it and fix it, so I'm sticking with the working "sysvinit"
boot option in Grub for the time being.

Thanks,
Martin
