Dear console-setup package maintainers,
is there anything blocking the adoption of the suggested solution for
this bug?

It seems to me that the solution has been explained by its proposer and
tested by a number of different people. I am not aware of any undesired
side effect or flaw.
Hence I wonder what's preventing this solution from being accepted...
