Thanks.  When you do that, please also mention that journald doesn't
handle full partitions gracefully either (it goes into an infinite
loop spamming log messages about how it can't save log messages) and
that when Storage=auto and /var/log/journal doesn't exist, journals
are saved to /run and never rotated!  This means that in a default
installation of unstable, if the system is left up 24x7 and there's a
user cron job that runs every five minutes, /run will be full in less
than two weeks.  (Relatedly, user cron jobs produce an awful lot of
log chatter:
