Well, I want to, but have been reluctant to move forward without input
from the other sysvinit maintainers.  I would rather maintain the
version currently in sid as part of the next stable Debian release, as
I believe it is the best sysvinit release ever. :)

Did you test version 2.86.ds1-36 in etch?  Did it work well for you?
