I had a look, and I am not sure if we really want to change the
default of VERBOSE from yes to no. I did not discover this before:
sysvinit (2.86.ds1-9) experimental; urgency=low
[...]
* /etc/default/rcS: Make VERBOSE and DELAYLOGIN default to "no"
I suspect this will make more noise than it is worth, and I would
rather do a few releases with all the other new features before we try
to take that fight. Any objections to reverting that to yes?
