First of all, thanks for bootlogd. I am right now sshed into my co-loed
system as it boots up, tailing /var/log/boot as it does the 256 day fsck
of /home. It's the next best thing to being there, or having a serial
console.
Anyway, I suppose that bootlogd munges \r and friends as a security
measure, or something like that, but I am not worried about possibly
malicious stuff getting in my boot log, and would prefer it unmunged.
Any interest in adding an option to disable the munging? Then this fsck
would not look like this when tailed:

bootlogd has been improved since this report was filed, hopefully to the full
satisfaction of the submitter.
