[Pkg-sysvinit-devel] Hard Drive Shutdown Issues

Hi,

apologies for emailing this list, but I believe I'm one among many
Debian users becoming increasing frustrated at the lack of any progress
with updated packages to handle the recent shutdown changes in the Linux
  kernel.

All DBTS activities regarding this bug (#426224, #430497, #436703) seem
to have almost stopped, despite the bug's priority and repeated comments
from Debian users. In particular, I there is a link to the Novell bug
tracking system where Werner Fink has uploaded more substantial efforts
to fix this bug (https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=229210). In
particular, I believe this handles the cases that the committed changes
to /etc/init.d/halt does not where different hard disks require
different behavior.

Will a new sysvinit be uploaded soon, or at least some feedback on the
status of these issues?

Many thanks,

Francis Russell
