Package: sysv-rc
Version: 2.87dsf-4
Severity: normal

today's upgrade brought up a message from sysv-rc about the change to a
"dependency based boot system" and some issues the upgrade apparently
has with my system.
but that issues report is basically useless, sonce it is in a language
incomprehensibly to humans:

package foo removed by not purged,

what is that supposed to mean?
from the full report (see below) i gather the problems are related to
postgresql-8.3, system-tools-backends and virtualbox-ose.

please fix that description to make people actually understand waht
happend instead of leaving them frustrated and annoyed with careless
written messages that cause more issues than the try to solve.

The following problems were detected: package postgresql-8.3 removed by
not purged, package system-tools-backends removed by not purged, package
virtualbox-ose removed by not purged, insserv: script postgresql-8.4: service postgresql already
provided!, insserv: script postgresql-8.4: service postgresql-8.4 already provided!,
