It mean that the migration is blocked by package foo, which is removed
but not purged and thus have left behind a script in /etc/init.d. :)
I've added some notes on

explaining these messages. I am not sure how to make them clearer.

Will need proposals on how to make these messages easier to
understand. Any ideas?

Running 'aptitude purge postgresql-8.3 system-tools-backends
virtualbox-ose' will solve the issues. :)
