given the investigation in #678260, I think this is not an issue in lsb-base 
but in startpar, hence hereby reassigning to the version currently in testing 
(as the bugreport doesn't tell the version). lsb-base's init-functions 
(without 20-left-info-blocks) only echoes stuff to stdout and this hasn't 
changed for a while, so I think it's a bug in startpar (but can't pinpoint 
where tough).

Feel free to reassign to lsb-base if needed.
