Thanks for asking but please go ahead without my changes for now. I'll
likely start a wider discussion on the init-helper tools given that I'm
moving things around which affects essential packages on debian-devel
before moving forward.

I've been able to sucker pere into answering some questions on IRC even
though he insists on not being a sysvinit authority anymore.
