[Pkg-utopia-maintainers] Bug#509614: NetworkManager clobbers nfsroot

Package: network-manager
Version: 0.6.6-2
Severity: wishlist

When trying to boot a diskless client using nfsroot, with a default
lenny install using debootstrap, network-manager attempts to
reconfigure the already functioning interface causing the boot to hang
and the client to loose the nfs mounted root.

The simplest workaround it to not let network-manager touch the
default interface by setting it to manual in network/interfaces, i.e.:
 iface eth0 inet manual

However, it would be nice if network-manager could detect that the
interface was already active and not down it by default.

Thanks,

Troy
