tbh, I did not test switching to runlevel 1 and back to 2.

I trusted lintian and also had a discussion (quite some time ago) with  
raphael.
So I removed it in good faith.

As my notebook hard drive died this morning, I would appreciate if you  
could quickly test it.

If it does not work, then the lintian check should be reworked imho.
