AW: new features for vdradmin

Not a bad idea... but I see a lot of things well-solved in vdradmind like 
 - being a standalone-http-server, 
 - only communicating with the vdr through a tcp connection.

What I think should be improved is 
 - better i18n,
 - ability to see recordings that might be deleted in the future,
 - renaming recordings,
 - see length / size of recording

But is that worth a new implementation? Introducing new depencies like PHP, Apache or other programming languages not commonly
installed?
I'm really unsure. 
And, the biggest "problem" - I've NO knowledge about python and ruby.

I'll take some time and have a look at ruby.
