It was just a suggestion of mine, because I'm not a big fan of Perl ;)

But if you want to improve vdradmin and the upstream author don't wants 
to change anything... just make a fork and call it "VDRManager" or 
something like this. You may open a project on www.osforge.com, 
sourceforge or savannah.nongnu.org. I'm sure that there are more people 
out there, who would like to improve vdradmin.
