You can't. That's why this must be fixed in the upstream sources. The 
remote option must be made available as a command line option, so it can 
be configured in the plugin.xineliboutput.conf. I see no reason, why the 
remote settings should be available on the Setup-OSD. I'll write a 
suggestion to the author of the plugin.
