If alevt in dvb-apps is not being worked on either (they even moved it
to "legacy"), then the cookie that I bit into is a little bit bigger
than I first thought. In light of dvb-apps being dead upstream it isn't
really right to replace alevt with dvb-apps.

I'm leaning more towards setting up a proper upstream project for alevt
and keeping the alevt package separate from dvb-apps. I have had some
fascination with teletext even since I was a little child, so I think
it'll be fun.

But why did upstream move it to the legacy section of the website? Doing
something like that makes it look like there are replacements for all
the included tools (at least apart from alevt). Do you think the package
still is relevant for Debian?
