Package: asterisk
Version: 1:0.9.1+1.0RC1-8
Severity: important

Due to the large speed increase gained a ultrasparc based package
would perform best for this cpu intensive application on SPARC based
systems. A package compiled for v8+ (32 bit) would work best unless
you wanted full v9b (64bit) for the encoding functions as for some
parts it would be faster in 64 bit, but not all. The main thing is to
have a non sparclite package since the sparclite (the default debian
sparc core arch used) instruction set is so _slow_ and can render
asterisk _unusable_ . The big speed gain is in the use of at least
the v8 sparc instruction set.

You may also want to get the latest CVS in before testing is released
as stable.
