Hi guys,

alright, my asterisk installation works quite fine now, so here's the
hands-on experiences:

I've installed asterisk, libpri, zaptel from SVN as reported patched with
bristuff RC5 (the RC7a which came out so far still doesn't have ZapHFC
back).

I'm now using one asterisk for external inbound and outbound plus ISDN
(through zaphfc in TE-mode) using asterisk-spandsp-fax which is working
nicely. All of IAX2, SIP and OH323 work just fine and receiving faxes
through rxfax was more or less an out-of-the-box issue once i found the
correct dialplan lines for doing postprocessing. =3D)

The second asterisk on my workstation is having a ZapHFC in NT-mode and
has my ISDN-phone plugged into it. I can receive and place calls by just
dialling the normal phone which especially works nicely together with
ENUM.

ENUM is working nicely both inbound and outbound out-of-the-box. When
calling myself it's even looping inside the asterisk without going to
the external PSTN for it's using the ENUM info priorized in my
dialplan. ;)

The only problem i had so far was:
1.) /dev/zap is created with root.root (0640) permissions. This needs to
be root.dialout in 0660. Adding asterisk to dialout then show the
initgroups patch works just as intended.
2.) executing /usr/sbin/ztcfg -v after loading the zaphfc module is
mandantory. Unfortunatelly you *MUST NOT* run ztcfg twice for it will
break the connectivity and even though chan_zap will still initialize
nicely, you cannot put or receive any single inbound or outbound call.
I'll try to reach the author for this, but the current transition will
delay this fix a bit.=20

If there's any questions to the setup or you need/want to test any of
the clients against it, feel free to drop me a note.

Best regards,
 Kilian
