new to asterisk and debian

All of the uploads in Debian go through unstable. From there they
proceed into so called "testing" which is eventually released as new
stable. Thus the version you have now in Sarge (current Debian stable)
also went through unstable and was found worthy progressing into
testing. Nothing to worry about there.

For the above request of course binfone.com should know what they
support best, and i guess they'll go for Debian stable unless
neccessary. If you're new to Debian and Asterisk you have been right to
ask for commercial support from people who are paid to ensure your
service. As you may or may not have read, Debian is based on voluntary
work and thus cannot offer you setting up your box. So from that point
you should rely on binfone.com to provide you with the setup you asked
for. If you have any further VoIP-specific Debian questions, feel free
to come back to us. For general support, there's good mailinglists like
debian-user who will be able to help you with more general
administration tasks if needed.
