If you're planning to support that code, I see no problem in adding it
to the Debian package and ship it that way. Even making Debian the
official new upstream of that part (or even the whole Kphone) in case
you're interested is thinkable. Can you provide a direct link whereabout
your patch is that you desire to be included?

Not sure, what SI is in that sense, but right now, I'm not aware of any
pending updates in Kphone for Debian. Maybe Mark Purcell from the team
can comment better here, as he usually does the updates and is thus more
involved with the code and upstream.
