Package: asterisk
Version: 1:1.2.13~dfsg-2
Severity: important

Hi. The problem is this. I use asterisk connecting to a remote SIP
provider(VoIP<->PSTN). When booting my machine asterisk starts, but
doesn't work correctly. I believe the remote provider cannot contact
my asterisk server. When I call in from outside(thorugh the remote
provider) I just get the failure tone

I can then restart asterisk by using the init script and then it works.
So I believe there is something wrong.

I have tried moving the execution of the init script later in rc.x
directorys using update-rc.d but that haven't helped(I thought it might
be because of my internet interface wasn't configured by dhcp yet)

Another thing I have noticed is when I then restart asterisk manually
using the init scripts is that the terminal which have run this init
script hangs when trying to exit it

The following is a ps after booting my machine and then a restart:

deckard:~# ps -ef|grep aster
root 5275 1 0 13:41 ? 00:00:00 /bin/sh
/usr/sbin/safe_asterisk -p -U asterisk
asterisk 5284 5275 4 13:41 ? 00:00:03 /usr/sbin/asterisk -p -U
asterisk -vvvg -c
root 5769 5507 0 13:42 pts/0 00:00:00 grep aster
deckard:~# /etc/init.d/asterisk restart
Stopping Asterisk PBX: asteriskstart-stop-daemon: warning: failed to

Starting Asterisk PBX: asterisk.
