Sounds like a maintainer's job to me :)
Anyway, I'm not pushing, as you wish; please do handle bugs introduced 
by your upload though.

Have you contacted upstream regarding their plans with the 2.0 release?
Are we going to release lenny with 1.x or 2.x?
I'd suggest the latter but I don't know the specifics of the package.

If so, you should consider making the upload to unstable.

BTW, feel free to ask me for sponsorship when you're done making 
changes. I'll be happy to do the upload for you.

Sounds reasonable to me even though I've never touched the package.
