the use of SONAME as part of the package name is recommended and best
practice. Using online libspandsp without SONAME would mean breaking all
subsequent packages with each new API/ABI without having a proper transition
mechanism. The common reference place therefore is libspandsp-dev to rebuild
all reverse depends properly and have them pick up the new change if any.
