So far I was actually in favour of keeping compat 9 at least until the
release of stretch; but I was convinced otherwise by a suggestion on
debian-mentors and by many DDs switching their packages to compat 10.
The solution is to backport debhelper 10 to Ubuntu trusty, which is
straightforward and has already been done for Debian jessie. This
will also benefit other backports besides that of twinkle.
