Aha.  I found the current state confusing.

I submitted a patch to <URL: https://bugs.debian.org/838524 > based on
the dsc file in unstable.  I hope it can be applied and uploaded to
unstable soonish. :)

I did not dare to commit it to git as it was unclear to me how this
would affect bringing git in sync with unstable.
