Yes, the iw scan log would likely be helpful as I expect some ESSID
with special characters which are not UTF-8. I remember vaguely having
seen this once years ago in France where a Hotel wifi had a "é" or so
in ISO-Latin-1 encoding in the ESSID.
0xE2 in e.g. ISO-Latin-1 or CP1250 would be a "â" like in the french
word "Château", but could also be a "Б" in KOI8 encoding
